Hi I am Elias from Holland and i am a great fan of the show.

Why do you use WMV codec? It's crap and closed source.
Only Windows users can get good playback.
On my macbook i can't get the sound to work, not using the official windows media player and it's codec.

WMV is a terrible codec.

Mpeg 4 avc, or x264 is much better.

x264 is free to use, why not use it?

Is it because you want to add drm to the WMV in the future?

Please respond, thanks!

I have a MacBook Pro and watch using the Filp4Mac WMV component, a free QuickTime add-on which allows QT7 to play WMV and WMV HD content perfectly. While it still doesn't support all that WM-DRM stuff, it's great for MariposaHD.

Get Flip4Mac here...

I've found that VLC will play just about everything, if if that doesnt, then MPlayer might also play them. VLC can be found at http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html, and MPlayer can be found at http://mplayerosx.sourceforge.net/. Both are great alternatives to flip4mac.

edit: movies played in quicktime using the flip4mac, just took a little while to load. Didn't seem to have audio when I tried it in MPlayer though.
